Diya aims to:

support public schools that serve underprivileged children.
Focus on teachers’ grooming according to modern teaching and learning standards.
Improve literacy rates by enrolling out-of-school children.
• The Diya School (Phase 1):
Diya Primary School (Nursery to Class 5 Registered up to middle standard with AJK Directorate of Education)

     

The purpose of Diya School establishment was to meet the educational needs of children, who are most disadvantaged in our society. Diya, ran this programme successfully from 2011 to 2020 through self finance. Students were given free transport, free books and free new uniforms at Diya School till 2016, and free education was provided till 2020. Children were then enrolled in the nearby Government schools because we felt in 2019 that government primary schools were getting empty and people were sending fewer children to these schools. Instead of setting up a separate free education system, we should empower government primary schools, as the government is already spending and providing free education.
Working with Govt. Primary schools in the vicinity of DIYA (Phase 2):
This is the second phase of the Diya School, which aims to support public schools that serve underprivileged children. We will groom the teachers according to the 21st century requirements and provide age appropriate educational toys, supplies, and Montessori equipment to the nearby school to help out of school children enrol in schools happily and improve the literacy rate in our society.
